Visit Monaco and Eze
7 hour day tour
Service Description
On the way to Monaco, we will make a first stop to discover the medieval village of Eze: located just after Nice, Eze stretches along the sea from Cap Roux to Pointe de Cabuel... Perched like an eagle's nest at the top of an imposing 400-meter cliff, the village and its church stand out in the distance. To reach the entrance to the village, you will take a small stone path, skillfully decorated and polished by time, which offers a view of the superb gardens of the Château de la Chèvre d'Or. The famous Fragonard perfumery will be part of the expedition. Heading for the Principality of Monaco, where you will discover: The Prince's Palace and the changing of the guard at 11:55 a.m. The Palace of Monaco, commonly known as the Prince's Palace (Monegasque: Palaçi d'u Pri̍ncipu), has been the official residence of the Prince of Monaco since 1297. It is located atop the Rock of Monaco, the oldest district of the Principality of Monaco, and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Originally built in 1191 as a fortress for the Republic of Genoa, the building has been bombarded and besieged by numerous foreign forces throughout its history. Since the late 13th century, it has been the residence of the House of Grimaldi, the family that conquered the region in 1297. The Grimaldis ruled the principality as feudal lords and, since the 17th century, as sovereign princes. The Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate of Monaco is a religious building in the Romanesque-Byzantine style. Built under the principate of Charles III, it is the main church of the Monegasque archbishopric. As such, it constitutes an important element of the Monegasque identity, "symbol of a strong attachment to our roots and our Christian faith". It hosts pontifical services on the occasion of major religious festivals, as well as on the occasion of the feast of Saint December. The Palais de Justice, inaugurated in 1930. The Oceanographic Museum, created over a century ago by Prince Albert I of Monaco. You can visit the Prince's Palace (8 euros/adult, 4 euros/child) and the Oceanographic Museum (14 euros/adult, 10 euros/child). The Monte-Carlo Casino, commissioned by the Société des Bains de Mer (founded by François Blanc in 1863) and designed in 1878 by the famous architect Charles Garnier. The Hôtel de Paris, inaugurated in 1864.
